Another tough year for the agricultural sector, however, NAP+ is here to assist and guide you through all the problems that you might faced. Today, NAP+ would like to give you 4 water saving tips during drought season.

  1. Choose short-cycle crops or drought-tolerant crops
If possible, we recommend you to grow short-cycle crops or drought-tolerant crops. For example, maize, cowpeas and rice.
  2. Choose sustainable method for irrigation
For fruit crops, we recommend you to choose the most sustainable method for irrigation such as “drip irrigation” technique.
  3. Mulching
Mulching is a technique used to retain soil moisture, where a layer of material applied to the surface of soil. Many materials are used as mulches, however, we recommend organic materials like leaves or peatmoss.
  4. Organic matter can boost your soil water holding capacity
“Each 1 percent increase in soil organic matter helps soil hold 20,000 gallons more water per acre.” Therefore, increase your soil organic matter with Humus Kali. Humus Kali is rich in “organic matter” from three biostimulant substances including Humic, Fulvic, and Amino acid.

The recommended application rate for drip irrigation is 200g/200L of water.

The recommended application rate for direct soil application is 10kg/ Ha (open field).
